via Ifjordfjellet to Helsinki and Tavistholmen

This summers round-trip is over and one last day of holiday was well spent relaxing at home. Since the beginning of July I have been working at Ifjordfjellet catching voles, counting birds and counting pellets.

Here used to be a plot.

 
Now here is a road. 

The mountains were flowering quite bit this year. May and June were exceptionally warm.

Sitten... Siirryin loma-oloon näppärästi käymättä lähtöruudun kautta...Bussi Tromssasta Rovaniemelle kulkee Palojoensuun kautta, ja siihen voi hypätä kyytiin suoraan töistä.

And the slightly over-programmed holiday in south Finland included among other things:

kayaking at Punkaharju, as a side-activity for accompanying Arno and my father to the Savonlinna opera festival.

 Taking an over-crowded ferry to over-crowded Suomenlinna for a picnic. Everyone in Helsinki had crawled out of their holes in a sunny Saturday and every green spot of the town was filled by more or lessed un-dressed picnicers. Hupf!

Sailing to Tavistholmen. Yes, it is nine years ago since I last was there... A rather nostalgic trip!!
