Long-tailed duck
One of the last days we started marking birds - I got to help in ringing lapland longspurs :)
Return-flight from Bylot Island to Pond Inlet by helicopter, over the sea ice. By then (mid June...) it had started to break up. In spite of the effort of the helicopter pilot to find narwhals in the open cracks we did not manage to spot any. A reason to go back...

Stop in inuktitut. I learned to say qujannamik (=thank you) and write my name with th inuktitut alfabet :)
