Two weeks at Ifjordfjellet became one-and-half... Four days before departure (monday afternoon) we listened to an interview of a meteorologist on the radio "den skal løye seg til palmesøndag". Storm until Sunday... And even if the road over Ifjordfjellet has finally been finished (yes, my PhD was done faster than that road), it is by no means likely that it would be kept free of snow in a storm. An evacuation-cleaning, quick snowmobile-transport to the car in darkness, with the horizontal rain-snow-something starting to show first signs of a weather change, and in a few hours we were sitting in Tana Bru a bit confused. Of the three field parties of COAT we were two to get down before storm - the third one managed to hit the road yesterday... The storm had no name, anyhow, so it couldn't be THAT bad storm?
