(Halloween as it would be written in Finnish to be pronounced in French)

Already for a month orange doughnuts, orange pumpkin-shaped cookies, pumpkins and all thinkable plastic- decorations have been available in the shops. The gardens are decorated with self-glowing skeletons, human-sized balloons shaped as ghosts, pumpkins, witches and spiders. Seems like the "bigger car than neighbors" - syndrome has been extended to "more scary decorations than neighbors". University entrance is decorated with a moving witch which has green lamps as eyes. Last night we ended up to a (costume, goes without saying) -party without costumes... The crown of witches, fat cats, stone-age people, cowboys, toreadors, zombies and you name was impressive. But I still haven't quite got used to the concept of going to a party with a car (there were about 20-30 cars outside the house), maybe I've grown up in too urban conditions... Tonight apparently we can expect random children, dressed up in costumes, to knock on the door and ask for candy. What will they think if I offer them some nuts or almonds? That's all we have for the moment... Foreigners who haven't learned to be prepared for the occasion!

No specific halloween -lights, this pink light-show is there every night...

Last but not least: il neige! The first snow didn't stick to the ground, though.
