Happened earlier the same evening: a real encounter with quebecois culture - a concert of Gilles Vingeault, famous here and in France - slightly less famous in Scandinavia. He comes from the village at the end of the road on the north coast, and seems to be an icon not only for the quebecois music but also for the national spirit... In spite of his 82 years he was making a very lively show and telling stories in between the songs. Not that could understand all of it but it was fun to hear stories from places where I have been :) Like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDmY1LUeVSE
The colorful season is here - and I'm starting to see why the maple leaf is so big thing in Canada... Colors in northern Scandinavia are great - but these are different, more flash-orange and covering more uniformly big areas.
